Piggy Customization, A Heartfelt Keepsake

On October 19, 2025, our studio received a custom order filled with delicate sentiment. The client wanted a felted wool portrait of their cat, "Piggy," with a particularly unique request: not only did they want Piggy's fur incorporated into the portrait, but they also specifically mailed us Piggy's fur and whiskers, repeatedly emphasizing, "I hope the cat's whiskers in the portrait can be made with Piggy's real whiskers, so it will feel more personal."

Detailed Refinement, Collaborative Effort

Upon receiving the package, we carefully stored Piggy's fur and whiskers and immediately communicated with the client regarding the basic details of the portrait. Heartwarmingly, during the creation process, the client and her husband took turns providing additional details: from the subtle gradient of Piggy's fur color, to the almost imperceptible small markings near its eyes, and its favorite expressions – every little detail was clearly communicated. We promptly updated them on the progress and discussed adjustments to the details, ensuring the artwork was refined to perfection.

Masterful Creation, Filled with Affection

We meticulously handled every crucial detail: precisely embedding Piggy's fur into the main body of the portrait, and then carefully securing the real whiskers onto the portrait using tools as fine as a strand of hair, ensuring accurate placement and natural form. Throughout the entire process, every stitch held a reverence for this heartfelt sentiment – this was not just a portrait, but a profound expression of the couple's deep love and affection for Piggy, a unique memory hidden in the details.
