A Felted Gift to Comfort Grief

On May 5, 2025, our studio received an inquiry filled with heavy emotions. The client wanted to commission a felted wool portrait of her boyfriend's cat as a memorial – the cat had tragically died two days prior after accidentally falling from a building, at only a little over a year old. Her boyfriend was deeply saddened, and she hoped this special gift would bring him some comfort.
A Stray Encounter, a Unique Mark

During our communication, we learned that the cat was a stray rescued a year ago. Uniquely, its ears had been clipped when it was found. After consulting a veterinarian, they learned this was a sign that the cat had been neutered. Even more special was the unevenness of its ears, which the client specifically requested: "Please make sure to include this detail; it's what makes him unique."
Adding Wings and a Halo, Wishing for Peace
After finalizing the details, we immediately began production. When the main part of the cat was completed and photos were sent to the client, she gave her full approval and suggested a touching idea: "I'd like to add some angel wings to the cat's back, like it's going to heaven." We immediately adjusted the design, adding delicate wings and a shining halo to the cat, imbuing the image with the beautiful wish of "May the cat rest in peace."
Successful Delivery, a Warm Gift

After the finished product was delivered, the client immediately sent her thanks: "I'm so happy to have met you, thank you for helping me create this memorial." We deeply understand that this felted wool portrait with angelic elements carries not only the memory of the cat but also the client's thoughtful care for her boyfriend – may this soft memorial gradually heal the pain and keep the warmth of their time with the cat forever.
