Custom Portrait, Love Embodied
On December 24, 2024, our studio welcomed a special client. She wanted to commission an 8-inch felted wool portrait of her female Poodle. The client specifically mentioned her dog's name, Meimei, and made a heartfelt request—to incorporate Meimei's fur into the portrait, making this memento even more personal.
An Adoption Story, Deeply Cherished
During our conversation, we learned that Meimei was an adopted dog, and the client's love for her was profound. She confessed her fear of losing Meimei, a worry and affection so strong that it even manifested as a tattoo on her arm—she had Meimei permanently inked onto her skin. This pure and deep affection instantly touched the softest part of our hearts.
Thoughtful Details, Full of Hope
The client had already envisioned the details of the portrait: a festive red background to add warmth to her office desk; and she specifically requested that small braids be added to Meimei's ears to make the portrait even cuter. We agreed with the idea but also honestly informed her that we would adjust the design during production based on the actual results, striving to present the best possible image.
Craftsmanship and Attention to Detail
After receiving Meimei's fur, the creation process began immediately. We carefully incorporated a few strands of fur into the portrait's head, ensuring that every inch held a special memory. However, when attempting to add the braids, we found that the overall effect was not ideal. To avoid compromising the exquisite quality of the portrait, we ultimately decided to abandon this design.
Stunning First Draft, A Heartwarming Bonus
On January 4, 2025, we sent the client the first draft photos. Her reply was full of surprise: "It's wonderful, absolutely amazing! I'll definitely promote you on RED NOTE (a Chinese social media platform) after I receive it!" This recognition filled us with joy, and her story with Meimei moved us even more. After much consideration, we decided to create an additional small pendant for her, this time fulfilling her wish to add braids to Meimei's image.
A Mutual Journey, a Warm Moment Captured
On February 18, 2025, the adorable keychain with pigtails was completed, and we immediately sent photos. The customer's excitement was palpable: "How can I thank you! You're amazing, I love it, I'm going to cherish this." Seeing her feedback, we deeply understood the meaning of this work: using our craftsmanship to protect every sincere expression of love and allowing that warmth to be forever preserved.
