Heterochromatic Cat, Custom Order Begins

On June 19th, 2025, our studio received a custom order filled with complex emotions. The client wanted a felted wool portrait of his friend's cat, a cat he and his ex-girlfriend had raised together for two years—a cat with heterochromia, one eye a pure blue, the other a warm yellow. Sadly, the cat had passed away just two days prior, and the client only had a few odd, candid photos of the cat tilting its head or showing its profile. He didn't even have a single proper front-facing photo, and due to the delicate circumstances, he couldn't ask his ex-girlfriend for more pictures. He had to painstakingly choose suitable material from the existing photos.
Exclusive Mark, May It Be Complete

After repeated comparisons and discussions, we finally selected a relatively clear profile photo from the collection of candid shots. During the communication, the client was incredibly meticulous, not missing even the smallest detail: "Its left ear, the one on the blue-eyed side, has a small notch, a piece bitten off during a fight with another cat. It's crucial to reproduce this accurately; it's its unique mark." As he said this, his eyes welled up, his voice betraying a barely perceptible catch in his throat. He added that the cat was emaciated from illness when it passed away, "Could you make its body a little plumper? I want it to be remembered as plump and healthy." This tenderness for the cat held unspoken deep affection for the past.
Attention to Detail, Carrying Heartfelt Intentions
The client paid close attention to every detail of the creation process, from the subtle shades of the cat's fur and the sheen of its pupils to the proportions of its body. He actively inquired about the progress and confirmed details at every stage. We understood that this portrait carried not only the client's longing for the cat but also a message he wanted to convey to his ex-girlfriend—that even though their relationship had changed, the warm moments shared with the cat were still worth cherishing. Therefore, we put extra care into every detail, striving to live up to this weighty trust.
Felted Affection, Understanding Your Reluctance to Let Go

Every time we create a felted wool pet portrait, we deeply feel the delicate emotions pet owners have for their furry companions. This heterochromatic kitten is a tangible reminder of the client's shared memories with his ex-girlfriend, and a symbol of his lingering affection for her. We carefully blended the wool colors to recreate the translucent sheen of its blue and yellow eyes, precisely replicated the small notch on its ear with fine needles, and then gradually filled in the wool to make the kitten's body appear round and full. Every stitch and every detail reflects our dedication—we hope this portrait can preserve the warmth of past memories for the client and bring a touch of comfort to his ex-girlfriend.
